Pre-Marital & Post-Nuptial Agreements (CS)
Prenuptial agreements (also referred to as a pre-marital or ante-nuptial agreements) allow a couple to address important issues about financial matters and ownership of property, and how that property will be characterized in the event of divorce or death. Prenuptial agreements are typically created to preserve a person’s separate property. However, they can include provisions regarding alimony and support obligations and provide protection for an individual’s heirs.

Post-nuptial agreements serve the same purpose as prenuptial agreements. They are typically made after the couple is married and have decided they either want the protection of a marital agreement or they wish to modify a previously entered prenuptial agreement.
Furr and Cohen’s family law attorneys are experienced in preparing and enforcing pre-marital and post-nuptial agreements. In addition to the general property issues, they are experienced in the complex agreements involving assets including wills and trusts, business ownership, retirement and employment benefits, and homestead rights.
